I started at Montgomery’s in 2016 after graduating from South Dakota State,  eager to join a team of professionals grounded by their common love for design. I hope you have the chance to see some of my past projects and learn more about my personal interior style technique.  If you have any questions or would like to work together on your home feel free to reach out using the form at the bottom of the page!

Design Style & Expertise

My design expertise is unique because of my roots in the apparel world. By utilizing my B.S. in fashion design and prior job experiences as a visual merchandiser and stylist, I am able to create usable layouts with palettes that compliment not only your room, but YOU.

My personal design style is definitely eclectic.  As an environmental lover, I enjoy being able to tie in natural elements as well as some recycled metals… Some of my favorite vendors use up-cycled materials in everything from dining tables to lighting.  When buying for myself, companies that are environmentally aware and have a small carbon footprint is pretty important.

The Importance of Inspiration

Like apparel, everyone has their own taste in home design.  I don’t think there is a right or wrong place to draw inspiration or educate yourself on ways to revamp or start fresh with your space.  Pick up a design magazine, read home blogs, or my favorite… apps like Pinterest and Instagram.  I personally enjoy Pinterest and Instagram the most because you are able to see an array of ideas and 99% of the time, something you’ve never even thought of.  There is no title page or table of contents, what you can search for is limitless.

Tile Tip

Another favorite product I like to show clients, is tile.  Switching or adding a backsplash to an area like your kitchen/bathrooms/bar makes a huge impact.  The area between your counter tops and cabinetry/mirror is right at the strike zone of anyone walking into the room—it needs to be a WOW!

Last but not least, no better place to invest some money into than your sanctuary or master suite. I love getting clients creative juices flowing by showing them all of the possibilities there are through the custom bedding we can create for them.  Nothing is more important than feeling at home and relaxed in your own bedroom!  I want to create a space that my client is able to walk into and be overcome with relaxation.

Some of my favorite products tend to be the ones most overlooked in interior design… Nothing is more fun than seeing the drastic impact made by a simple swap of lighting.  If you don’t want to invest a lot of money into new furniture, invest in one or two solid light fixtures in high traffic areas such as the dining room and foyer of your home.
