Working with a designer includes on-site measurements. Your designer will also create freehand sketches or computer renderings of your project and space. And may include like photographs of your project.
Each Montgomery’s showroom has thousands of samples, but don’t be overwhelmed. Our designers will help you narrow down your fabric choices for every piece you’re creating.
We have a team of installers available to assemble and install any custom-created window treatments you have purchased. Whether they are shades, blinds, or drapes, our installers are experienced and professional.
At Montgomery’s, we not only provide a vast selection of quality furniture, but we also offer custom sewing services to get your projects done. So whether you’re interested in custom drapes, valances, bedding, pillows, or something else, our custom workroom can help. While our team does not create quilts, we can provide you with custom duvets, coverlets, bed scarfs, and more! Though we are located in Sioux Falls, SD, our team of professional seamstresses is ready to create your project no matter which Montgomery’s location you shop. So stop in and let our designers help bring your home or commercial business project to life.

All you have to do is bring us your idea, and we’re glad to give you a quote on the job.
Our sewing services include the following: Custom Bedding – pillow shams, bedspreads, coverlets, etc. Custom Drapes, including sheers and curtains. Custom Pillows for your sofa or accent chairs. Custom Cushions to replace your sofa, loveseat, or bench cushions. Custom Roman shades, pelmets, and valances.
Benefits of a Custom Order
With custom window drapes, bedding, pillows, or valances, you get to tailor-make them to your needs. Rather than making existing products accommodate your room, you dictate the product’s design from start to finish.
You’ll work with a designer to create the perfect look for your room or commercial space. Free measurements and on-site consults allow us to come to you and see what our team needs to make, so you have the perfect finishing touches for your space. PLUS, we have a team of professional installers ready to put up your newly created drapes, shades, or cornice boards.
Curtain: a hanging piece of fabric used to shut out the light from a window, adorn a room, and increase privacy.
Drape: a hanging of heavy fabric and usually of considerable length for covering a window and drawn open and shut horizontally.
Sheer: a light, airy, and breezy window treatment with translucent properties.
Roman Shade: a window shade that, when raised, is drawn up into a series of concertina folds.
Pelmet: a narrow border of cloth or wood fitted across the top of a door or window to conceal the curtain fittings. (Often called a cornice board.)
Valance: a short ornamental piece of drapery placed across the top of a window.
