For as long as Paula can remember, she was space planning and designing. As a child, her fun consisted of rearranging her room and painting her furniture to match her décor. In high school, she spent her leisure time at floral arranging classes and even devoted an entire Christmas list to one item…a coffee table! With this type of passion and natural instinct, the path to South Dakota State University to study interior design was obvious. To round out her design skills, Paula included a business economics minor to give her clients the best of both worlds! Design that fits their budget.

Paula has designed 100s of projects ranging from residential to commercial. From South Dakota and surrounding states to California and New York, there is no project big or small, near or far that Paula won’t handle with intense level of detail and passion.

About Paula

Paula lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, Ralyn, owner of Kruetzfeldt Construction. A true match made in “industry”. Paula and Ralyn have four children and five grandchildren. Outside of her passion for design, Paula stays connected with her community by working closely with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of SD, Junior League of Sioux Falls and most recently adopted a horse at HORSEPOWER. And if you can’t find her rearranging furniture, spending time with her family or giving back, she is singing karaoke with the best of them!

“I pride myself on listening to my clients’ needs and developing a style they express.” Paula makes sure her clients’ environments are comfortable, expressive and unique!

Paula’s design process often starts with an exploratory phase so she can get to know her clients; who they are, what they enjoy, style preferences, how they use rooms in their house and so much more! She enjoys not only building a design schematic that works for her clients but also a relationship. “I have lifelong friends who started as a client. I want the experience to be fun and inspirational for them, as well as me.”

Her design philosophy is to create a space that is so interesting you can’t possibly take it all in with just one viewing. Whether you missed the accent fabric, the crystal cut chandelier, or the simplistic design of the drawer pulls, she wants you to find more treasures every time you walk into the room. All details are important to connect, it’s Paula’s version of connect the dots! She also strives to help her clients avoid costly mistakes by making good design decisions at the start.

Paula says,”I’m truly blessed to be in the design industry and am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with so many families and businesses. I look forward to many more projects and to see design styles continue to grow and change with new products, features and ever changing trends!”
