The city is Kayla’s muse.
“I love to try new things in my backyard. Whether it is a local event, cooking class, a bike ride on our beautiful trails, or enjoying our beautiful downtown, there are many things to do here in Sioux Falls. It fuels all my creative endeavors and keeps the passion fresh in my work life.”
Sharing that passion with her clients is the most crucial part of Kayla’s design process. “Collaboration is essential, and communication is key,” she says. “I am energized by pulling together design solutions for my clients.”
Kayla likes to design rooms using pieces from Norwalk, Bassett, and Jaipur, her favorite vendors.
Accenting treasured existing pieces with new items can show them off in a new way. For example, adding a unique rug can enhance and warm the space. And pillows in a fun fabric can make a sofa pop.
Beyond that, Kayla only has one design rule: “Go with what you love and what makes you feel comfortable in your space,” she says. “Don’t follow design trends that don’t work for you.”
And then, have fun! “I love all aspects of design – contemporary, transitional, shabby chic, and Bohemian with a touch of glam.”
But most importantly, Kayla loves the design that works for you.
