About La-Z Boy
La-Z-Boy is a company known for its comfortable furniture, particularly its recliners. It was founded in Monroe, Michigan, in 1927 by two cousins, Edwin Shoemaker and Edward Knabusch. The company's headquarters remains in Monroe, where they also have an Innovation Center and manufacturing facilities. The cousins' first invention was a reclining wood-slat porch chair, which evolved into the iconic upholstered recliner we know today.
